What we measure

We measure the audience of the Mirink websites with Matomo, an open-source tool we host ourselves, in Belgium. The data is never sold, shared or combined with other websites, and is never used for advertising.

• Until you answer, or if you decline: no cookie is set. Matomo counts page views anonymously, without being able to recognise a visitor from one visit to the next.
• If you accept: Matomo sets the cookies listed below. They tell us whether a visitor comes back and help us understand how people move through the site.

Either way, your IP address is truncated before it is stored (the last two bytes are masked), and raw visit data is deleted after 25 months.

Cookies set once you accept

• _pk_id: a random identifier for your browser, used to recognise a returning visit. Duration: 13 months.
• _pk_ses: groups the pages viewed during a single visit. Duration: 30 minutes.
• _pk_ref: remembers which website you came from. Duration: 6 months.
• mtm_cookie_consent: remembers that you accepted. Duration: 13 months.

What stays in your browser, without cookies

• Your answer to the cookie banner (mirink-cookie-consent), so we do not ask on every page. It is kept for 13 months, then you are asked again.
• Your country and language choice (mirink-geo), if you used the suggestion shown at the top of the page.

Both stay in your browser: they are never sent to us.

Forms

The hCaptcha anti-bot service only loads once you start filling in a form (contact or newsletter). It may then set a technical cookie that the check requires. See the Privacy policy.

No other trackers

No advertising cookies, no social media buttons, no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels.

Changing your mind

The Manage cookies link at the bottom of every page reopens the banner. If you withdraw your consent, the Matomo cookies are deleted. You can also clear the site's cookies and storage in your browser settings.
